On September 19, 2019, Master Paul Kitch (Partner, Greer Burns & Crain) visited the Middle Temple Inn in London. Paul had lunch in their dining hall and received tours of both of the formal areas of the Inn and the Library.
Thanks to Master Chris Lee and Associate Shaun Hawkinson, the Fifth Annual Golf Outing was a huge success! Held at Harborside International Golf Center on September 18, 2019, over 50 members and guests enjoyed an 18 hole golf scramble to benefit the Mark T. Banner Scholarship Fund. On August 11, 2019, President Adam Kelly and his son Liam completed the parent-child golf camp with US Kids Golf at Longleaf Country Club in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
On July 1, 2019, Past President Rebecca Pallmeyer was inducted as Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, becoming the first female chief for the Northern District which is also celebrating 200 years.
On June 28, 2019, the Linn Inn held its Thirteenth Annual Dinner at the Ritz Carlton. The black and white themed dinner honored Sahara Williams, recipient of the Mark T. Banner Scholarship Award of $10,000. Congratulations, Sahara! Honored Speaker Hon. Jay S. Plager, Circuit Judge from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit shared his thoughts on the intersection of IP and Administrative Law.
On May 9, 2019, the Linn Inn hosted its first bowling outing to raise funds for the Mark T. Banner Scholarship Award at 10 pin in River North. On December 11, 2018, the Linn Inn celebrated the holiday season with a festive party at the American Writers Museum where holiday ornaments created by board members were “sold” to benefit to the Mark T. Banner Scholarship.
On September 6, 2018, the Linn Inn tried to host its fourth Golf Outing to support the Mark T. Banner Scholarship at Riverside Golf Club. Thunderstorms turned the golf outing into the Inn’s first cornhole or “bags” tournament in support of the scholarship.
